Overview AUTOCROSS:

All drivers will be grouped based on power and weight (P&P System) and whether or not they are Stock/Modified. Vehicles must pass a basic safety tech and quick visual to verify their competition subclass. We reserve the right to send a car back across tech if a complaint is filed.

Classification:

  • P&P System (Pounds & Ponies)
    • Pounds = Gross Vehicle Weight
    • Ponies = Horsepower
  • Classes
    • Street: Must run OEM tire size with street tires and be road-legal. Can run any aftermarket mod, but claimed power gains must be reported on your self-tech form and you must add the claimed +HP gains from the manufacturer's website to your cars stock HP (as reported by the manufacturer). Convertibles Allowed. Tire must have a minimum UTQG Treadwear Grade of 200.
    • Outlaw: Everything else. Must have 4 wheels (3 wheels touching the ground at all times). Can run any desired tire or powertrain.
    • Electric Vehicles (EVs): If 5 or more EV’s register, we add EV (Street) or EV (Outlaw)  class
  • Sub-Classes (P&P System):
    • Street Light = Over 2,000lbs & Under 225whp, Street Tire
    • Street Muscle = Over 2,800lbs & Under 475whp, Street Tire
    • Street EV = All Electric Vehicles, Street Tire
    • Outlaw = Everyone Else
  • Track and Penalties:

A course with cones will be set up on the oval track.  Drivers will grid and start from a standstill in the designated starting area. The goal is to drive as fast as possible while trying to avoid knocking over cones and coming to a complete stop in the finish area before time is counted. Any cone(s) knocked over during a run will result in a 1.0s or 2.0s penalty (depending on track length) being added to the run time.

Drivers will be divided into flights. You will get 3 runs back to back to back in your flight group. Only the first 6 runs will be scored. Once every group has completed their 2nd flight, the course will remain open until the scheduled end time, but runs will be first come, first serve, and not count towards daily awards.

DRIVERS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO SHAG CONES!!!

  • Eligibility

Anyone 18+ years of age with a valid (US) driver's license is eligible to participate. Ages 15-17 with at least a learner's permit can compete with parents onsite and prior approval by raceway.  Cars must pass a basic safety check to make sure they have functional seat belts, are road-worthy and have no unsecured items in or outside the car. All drivers must have a Snell-rated helmet manufactured within the last 15 years. Helmets are available for rent [$20] first come first serve in the SpeedShop

Time Attack

**limited to 20 spots, first come first serve, and run order determined by purchase order

Compete against yourself and compete against others in this non-wheel-to-wheel competitive driving event.

  • Track and Competition:

Participants will get 1x 10min open lapping session. Your fastest lap in each session counts towards the competition. Top times in each class win.

There is absolutely no passing without a point-by from the driver being overtaken. Drivers must give a point-by before the end of the 2nd passing zone they come to when impeding traffic. Part of the strategy in this event is how you navigate traffic and gap yourself for a fast lap.

  • Eligibility and Pricing:

We run a MyLaps X2 scoring system and use RaceMonitor to publish live scoring data. You will need a MyLaps TR2 transponder to be scored.

Awards:

Drivers will compete for top time in their class for both Autocross and Time Attack. We will follow SCCA guidelines for awarding Podium awards, meaning there must be at least 2 people competing in a class for a 1st place to be awarded. We will crown a season champion on the last event of the year!

  • Best in Class: Fastest (up to 5) drivers in each subclass. Lowest time after penalties. Fastest time can be from any scored run during the day.
  • Season Points: Each event score season points calculated; Points = 100 – 900 * [(your time – best time in class) / best time in class]; Best 7 out of 8 events count towards season total. Highest score after 8 events wins the class championship.
